Umatilla, OR: A Special Stopover for Kevin’s Birthday!

Hey there adventurous souls, it's Shelly here from 2kidsatheart.com! Kevin and I are always on the lookout for new and exciting places to explore. Umatilla, OR was our recent pit stop en route to Seattle, and boy was it memorable!

We pulled our rig into the Umatilla Marina and RV Park. If you've been following our journey, you'll know how much we love water views, and this place was a hit. All gravel pads, full hook-ups, and a picturesque view of the marina and the river. Bliss! Trees strategically placed to give privacy, and the best part? A dozen pull-thru sites. As the sun started to set on Kevin’s birthday, my hunt for the perfect celebration spot led us to The Bridge Bistro and Brews. A peek at their menu had me salivating, and the promise of live music sealed the deal. Word of advice? While reservations aren't essential, a heads-up call can snag you a cozy table by the stage.

Dinner was a flavorful affair, starting with Gorgonzola Steak Bites. Yum! I indulged in a Chipotle Ranch Pizza with a cauliflower crust while Kevin… well, let’s just say his choice was delicious too! We swayed and sang to the duo's tunes, and a quick apology to our neighboring tables for our (potentially off-key) enthusiasm. 😄

Our last pit stop was the Wildhorse Resort and Casino. Talk about an unexpected gem! Joining the players club was rewarding as we got a birthday month bonus, and even the basic card came packed with perks! Check out their site for more. My highlight? Their beverage range included my all-time favorite - Diet Dr Pepper! The slots weren’t on my side, but Lady Luck smiled at the Texas Hold'em table. The resort wasn’t just about games; with clean amenities, a movie theater, and bowling, it was a complete package.

All in all, Umatilla was a birthday treat for Kevin and a delightful discovery for both of us.
