Nestled along the banks of the Arkansas River in northeastern Oklahoma lies the charming town of Sand Springs. Often overshadowed by its larger neighbors, this hidden gem captivates visitors with its unique blend of rich history and scenic landscapes.

Sand Springs boasts a captivating history that weaves together the stories of
Native American tribes, oil booms, and the resilience of its people. The town's roots can be traced back to the early 1900s when it flourished as a bustling oil town, attracting pioneers and entrepreneurs seeking their fortunes in the "Black Gold Rush."
Beyond its fascinating past, Sand Springs has a lot to offer its nature enthusiasts. There is an abundance of natural beauty that surrounds the town like the winding trails of the Keystone Ancient Forest. While we didn't visit Keystone Lake, we heard it is great for fishing, boating, and picnicking while soaking in breathtaking sunsets that paint the sky.
Campsite
During our visit, we had the pleasure of staying at the Riverview RV Park. The staff at the park were friendly and accommodating, always ready to answer questions and provide assistance throughout our stay.

Despite being an older establishment with a significant number of full-time residents, the park was kept in good condition. The concrete pads provided a solid foundation for parking our RV. However, it's important to note that there appeared to be limited open spots for travelers, and the park felt congested with lots of vehicles. While this didn't detract from the cleanliness or the friendly staff, it may be something to consider if you prefer a more spacious or secluded RV park experience.
Unfortunately, during our visit, the river was fairly dry, so the scenic views were limited. However, it's important to note that this may vary depending on the time of year and water levels, so it's advisable to inquire about the river conditions if that's an important aspect for your stay.

One of the highlights of the Riverview RV Park is its excellent proximity to local restaurants and grocery stores. Having these amenities within easy reach made it convenient for stocking up on supplies or enjoying a meal out without having to travel far.
Overall, despite the limited open spots and the congestion of vehicles, the Riverview RV Park offers a comfortable and well-maintained environment for RV travelers. The friendly staff contribute to a positive experience, and the park's location near restaurants and grocery stores adds to its convenience.

Casino

While in Sand Springs we visited the Osage Casino. It was a short ten minute drive from our camp site.
The Club Osage, Player Card Rewards Program/Perks, offered by the casino seems fantastic. As new members, we were thrilled to discover the range of attractive perks available. We received $10 dollars for signing up and another $10 dollars for providing a email address. It served as a great incentive to join and enhanced our overall gaming experience.
In terms of payout, we found the casino to be a bit tight. However, it's important to note that individual experiences may vary.

The casino did a commendable job in maintaining a relatively smoke-free environment, despite allowing smoking on the premises. The ventilation system seemed effective, creating a comfortable atmosphere for both smokers and non-smokers.
We didn't have the opportunity to sample the one food outlet food during our visit. It offered pizza, sandwiches and hand-held. However, we did enjoy a well-mixed Jack and Coke, which was good. It's worth mentioning that the beverage options were somewhat limited, with no beverage menu available. Additionally, there was a modest selection of tequilas and only one bottle of scotch.
The Osage Casino impressed us with its exceptional cleanliness. Throughout our time there, cleaning crews were actively working to ensure a clean environment. The machines were well-maintained, and the ashtrays were regularly emptied. Restrooms also received positive feedback from Shelly, with reports of cleanliness.
Overall, our experience was positive. If you're seeking an enjoyable gaming experience in a clean and well-maintained environment, the Osage Casino in Sand Springs is worth a visit.
