Reconnecting with Familiar Spots: Our Journey North

As we headed north, we decided to revisit some favorite stops from our previous trek to Seattle last summer. First up was the Wildhorse Casino and Resort. It’s a perfect place to break up a long drive. The RV park is conveniently within walking distance of the casino, but if you’re feeling lazy or just want to avoid the elements, there’s a complimentary shuttle service from the campsite to the casino. We managed to squeeze in a few hours of entertainment, and the slots kept us playing for quite a while. It’s a fun spot where you can enjoy the excitement and maybe even win a little!

After our casino adventure, we made our way to the Ellensburg KOA Journey. We’ve stayed here before, and it’s a solid spot to rest up for a few days. The KOA is consistently reliable with clean facilities and friendly staff. It’s a great place to recharge before hitting the road again.

Since we had a good experience at the Ellensburg Pasta Company last year, we decided to share it with my sister this time around. Sadly, it didn’t quite live up to our previous visit. The food was good, but not as exceptional as we remembered. The service wasn’t stellar either, though we’re chalking that up to our mid-afternoon dining hour. Maybe it’s just better during peak times.

Our next stop was GARD Winery, another place we enjoyed last year. We were excited to share this gem with my sister. Thankfully, this visit was just as delightful as the last. We had the chance to sample some different wines this time around. My sister, Marie, has a unique taste in wine—she loves it sweet, the sweeter, the better. Unfortunately for her, GARD doesn’t offer Moscato, but she gamely tried some ice wine. It wasn’t quite her cup of tea (or glass of wine), but the rest of us thoroughly enjoyed the tasting.

Our journey north was a mix of familiar favorites and new experiences. Revisiting Wildhorse Casino, Ellensburg KOA, and GARD Winery brought back great memories, even if not everything was as we remembered. The trip reminded us that the joy of travel is as much about the company and the journey as it is about the destinations. Whether it’s sharing a favorite spot with family or discovering that things don’t always stay the same, the adventure is always worth it.

Until next time, keep spinning the wheel of adventure!

Happy RVing!
