Hey, fellow adventurers! Get ready for a tale of our week-long escapade at Camp Margaritaville in Auburndale, Florida. Buckle up and let's dive into the fun!
Arriving at Camp Margaritaville, we were greeted by the friendly staff at the Ranger Station. Checking in was a breeze, and they even guided us directly to our spacious site in their trusty golf cart. Settling in was a snap – we unhooked our Jeep and backed in without a hitch.
Our site was a camper's dream, complete with artificial turf, a picnic table, and a charcoal grill. Plus, the landscaping was well-maintained, thanks to the diligent groundskeepers who were always out and about.
But wait, there's more! Some sites were equipped with their own tiki hut, granite-surfaced bar, and even an outside TV. Talk about camping in style! And the amenities? Oh boy, where do I start? From heated pools to a 9-hole putt putt golf course, there was never a dull moment. And the camp store? It was a treasure trove of necessities and souvenirs.
Now, onto the adventures! We kicked off Saturday morning with a bike ride along the City of Auburndale bike path. While Shelly and I brought our Lectric bikes, my sister had to rent one from the resort – a convenient option, though throttle settings were limited.
Evenings were spent enjoying some putt putt and relaxing by the fire pit at the Tiki Bar. The course was challenging, with uphill holes that tested our skills – and our patience!
And let's not forget about the food and drinks! Daily happy hours at the bars offered some delicious concoctions – I personally loved the Pink Cadillac, while Shelly opted for the skinny margarita with Don Julio tequila.
As for dining, we couldn't resist trying out the barbecue shack after a morning bike ride. The Pulled BBQ chicken flatbread was a hit, especially when shared with Shelly and my sister, Marie.
And when we needed a break from camp life, we found solace at Haven, a cozy coffee bar not far from the campsite. It was the perfect spot for mid-afternoon calls, with good WiFi and a quaint downtown setting.
We also ventured out to local eateries like Harborside, Manny’s Original Chophouse, and Beef ‘O’ Brady’s. While Harborside offered stunning waterfront views and delicious seafood, Manny’s stole the show with its hearty dishes.
Our last dining adventure was at Beef ‘O’ Brady’s – let's just say it was memorable, though perhaps not for the best reasons. But hey, every adventure has its highs and lows, right?
As we bid adieu to Camp Margaritaville, our hearts were full of memories and our spirits rejuvenated. Until next time, Auburndale – keep the adventures coming!
Until next time, keep spinning the wheel of adventure!
Happy RVing!
