Ever wonder how to make the most of a few days in Gig Harbor, WA before setting sail on an Alaskan cruise? Well, Shelly and I managed to weave some incredible memories in a short span. Here's a snapshot of our journey:

Setting Up Camp

Our first night was all about settling into Sun Outdoors, a cozy RV spot near the marina. RV enthusiasts, take note: tree cover might play spoilsport for satellite connections. But all's well that starts well, thanks to the warm welcome from Candi and the team.

From Mexican Delights to Mesmerizing Hikes

Lunch took us to Puerta Vallarta, where the tantalizing flavors of tacos Al Pastor and the chunky salsa quickly became our favorites. With our bellies content, we set course for Olympic National Park. Shelly, being an ardent collector of national park stamps, was thrilled to add another to her collection. Taking advice from a park ranger, we embarked on a hike to the serene Marymere Falls. And for those with a penchant for pop culture, Shelly was excited to discover the town of Forks - the backdrop for the Twilight series - was close to our hiking destination. A quick snapshot for the fandom was a must!

Post our hike, on the drive back, the 7 Cedars Casino beckoned. Their welcome offer was a pleasant surprise, providing us with a $5 free play, and the spacious RV parking was an added bonus. A few rounds at the slot machines and the day felt truly accomplished.

Leisurely Exploration & Harbor Views

We took our time exploring the local haunts and sounds of Gig Harbor. But as evening descended, the Tides Restaurant beckoned. Perched by the harbor, every dish, from my Italian Grinder to our shared cauliflower crust pizza, tasted better with the view.

Prepping and Recollecting

As our Alaskan cruise loomed, we spent the day gearing up and reminiscing about our quick yet eventful Gig Harbor escapade.

In the end, Gig Harbor was a testament to how much you can experience in just a few days. Whether you're stamp-collecting enthusiasts like Shelly or food aficionados like yours truly, there's something for everyone.

Until next time, keep spinning the wheel of adventure!

Happy RVing!
