We recently spent a couple of days at the picturesque Santa Rosa Beach, nestled in South Walton County. There are several beaches in Walton County and boasts a 19-mile-long bike trail, Timpoocee Trail, connecting various communities along the way. Join us as we take you on a journey through our memorable stay in this scenic paradise.
Pedaling Along the Timpoocee Trail

One beautiful morning, Shelly and I decided to rise with the sun and embark on an early cycling adventure along the Timpoocee Trail. The crisp air, with temperatures in the low 50s, greeted us as we set off on our bikes. We pedaled through stunning neighborhoods and communities, all nestled along the scenic road 30A. The beauty of the surroundings was truly captivating, and it made for a memorable ride. Though my hands felt like popsicles after the 4-mile journey, the experience was absolutely worth it.
Culinary Delights at Chanticleer Eatery
After our invigorating bike ride, we worked up quite an appetite. We decided to treat ourselves to a delightful meal at Chanticleer Eatery, which came highly recommended. The seafood platter was a standout, and the salads and appetizers were equally impressive. It's easy to see why this place is considered one of the top dining spots in the area. The flavors and presentation were simply superb.
A Taste of the Old Florida Fish House
Another evening, we ventured to the Old Florida Fish House, where the ambiance and atmosphere charmed us instantly. Our taste buds were in for a treat as we savored the special of the night, Oysters Kilpatrick. However, while my fillet medallions were delicious, the side dishes arrived disappointingly cold. Given the price point, this was a letdown. Nevertheless, the apple oat crisp dessert managed to redeem the evening, leaving us with a sweet memory. We'd certainly recommend indulging in this dessert if you find yourself dining here.
The 30A Luxury RV Resort: A Home Away from Home
During our stay in Santa Rosa Beach, we had the pleasure of calling the 30A Luxury RV Resort our temporary home. This resort was a breeze to navigate and offered a range of amenities to make our stay comfortable. While we have a washer and dryer in “Beauty”, we did take a look at the laundry facilities as they were right by our site. The facility was super nice and clean, and the fact that dryers were free was a nice surprise. The resort also featured a very nice clubhouse and a heated pool, perfect for relaxation. On-site, a coffee vendor added an extra touch of convenience, unfortunately we were never able to determine the vendor's hours to enjoy the java.
All the RV sites were equipped with full hook-ups, including cable and Wi-Fi. This was a major plus, ensuring that we stayed connected and entertained throughout our stay. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better place to set up camp during our Santa Rosa Beach adventure.
Our time at Santa Rosa Beach had some great highlights, from picturesque bike rides along the Timpoocee Trail to savoring delectable dishes at Chanticleer Eatery and the Old Fish House. Our stay at the 30A Luxury RV Resort was comfortable and convenient, making it an easy recommendation for fellow travelers. Santa Rosa Beach's charm and beauty left an indelible mark on us, and we can't wait to return for more adventures in this enchanting coastal paradise.
Until next time, fellow adventurers, keep exploring and savoring the flavors of your journeys!
Happy RVing!
