Embarking on a journey from Rawlins to Lyman, Wyoming, I had visions of overturned semis as we were challenged with wind gusts. Despite the winds reaching up to 40+ mph, we arrived at the Lyman KOA Journey in one piece!
Lyman KOA Journey

When we arrived at the Lyman KOA Journey, we were met by friendly staff members who assisted us with check-in. They thoughtfully provided us with a map of the site, shared access codes for the bathrooms and laundry room, and gave us an overview of the park. They were also nice enough to guide us to our spacious 50-amp pull-through site. While we had to drive through the grass to reach our site, I did note that the gravel pads were provided a nice landing spot for "Beauty and the Beast".
I don't think I have shared before that we named our rig and toad (our pull vehicle). "Beauty and the Beast" are perfect names we think for our beautiful 2018 Entegra Coach with Firestorm paint and 2014 Jeep Wrangler with a bed liner exterior. For those of you interested in learning more about our rig and toad, stay tuned to our blog for future posts where we will detail both.
Special Note: Most RVers name their rigs like us. We would love to hear the names you guys have come up with - please share your names in the comments for all to enjoy!
One unique aspect of our stay was sharing a power pedestal with a neighboring site, where they utilized the 30-amp service while we opted for the 50-amp service. This arrangement was a new experience for me, but it proved to be efficient and functional.
Enjoying the Campground

We discovered a playground on-site, complete with classic play equipment that brought back memories of childhood adventures. Although some of these toys are now considered potentially hazardous LOL, especially in extreme heat, we couldn't resist the temptation to have a bit of fun and relive those carefree moments - we made it through our childhood despite it, right?!
Exploring Mountain View's Grocery Store

During our stay in Lyman, we took the opportunity to visit Benedict's Market, the closest grocery store to Lyman, located in nearby Mountain View. It was the closest store to us - about 10 minutes! We were pleasantly surprised by the store's extensive selection of produce and various items. One notable find was Ponzu, a sought-after sauce for my wife's favorite cucumber salad. The grocery store also impressed us with its exceptional meat selection, yummy cheeses, and well-stocked deli. For anyone passing through, we highly recommend making a stop here to satisfy your grocery needs.
Fiesta Guadalajara Mexican Restaurant

For dinner, we went to Fiesta Guadalajara Mexican restaurant in Lyman. Both Shelly and I started with their side salad, which proved to be generous in size and came with ample ranch dressing. Shelly opted for the fajitas, while I indulged in the fiesta fajitas, featuring an awesome combination of chicken, beef, and shrimp. The salsa served alongside had a great kick, adding an extra layer of flavor to the meal. We enjoyed our dinner and would not hesitate to return should we find ourselves in the area again.
Quick Stop Enjoyed

Our journey from Rawlins to Lyman, Wyoming was uneventful, despite the winds on our drive. The Lyman KOA provided us with a welcoming and comfortable campsite including a 'blast from the past' playground. Exploring the nearby grocery store in Mountain View rewarded us with a wide variety of high-quality food, and our dining experience at Fiesta Guadalajara Mexican restaurant exceeded our expectations with delicious food and friendly service.
Lyman, Wyoming proved to be a hidden gem, offering a pleasant and relaxing stopover for travelers on their adventures.
Until next time, keep spinning the wheel of adventure!

Never too old to enjoy those childhood memories! Way to go Shelly! Glad to hear the wind wasn't as bad as you might have thought. " Beauty and the Beast is the perfect name for your RV and tag along with 4 wheels.
