A Saturday Filled with Adventure in Boise, Idaho

Our Saturday in Boise, Idaho, was packed with fun, starting with a much-needed caffeine boost and ending with wine and music. Here’s a rundown of our adventure-filled day!

Mountain Timber Coffee

We kicked off our day with some coffee from Mountain Timber Coffee, located conveniently near our accommodations at Boise/Meridian KOA Journey. We’d seen the drive-through line stretching out into the main street the other day, so we figured it must be good. Spoiler alert: it was. Nothing like a good cup of joe to fuel our adventures!

Freak Alley Gallery

Marie, my sister, has recently become a mural enthusiast, so Freak Alley Gallery was a must-see on our list. It’s the largest open-air multi-artist mural gallery in the Northwest, and the art is truly impressive. As we searched for the gallery, we drove around downtown, soaking in the vibrant street scenes and hunting for parking.

On a side note, during our parking quest, I suddenly craved breakfast. We stumbled upon Sarah’s Bagel Cafe, and I snagged a breakfast bagel sandwich that was so good, Shelly was envious to the point of not even being able to watch me eat it. Sorry, Shelly!

Boise Greenbelt and Greenbelt Ebike Rentals

The warm weather made it hard to secure a bike rental for Marie, so we ended up at Greenbelt Ebike Rentals. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. The customer service was top-notch, making Marie’s second ebike rental experience much better than her first. The shop is conveniently located less than a block from the Boise River Greenbelt, so off we went.

The Boise Greenbelt is a beautiful, paved trail that winds through various parks and memorials, along the river, and through downtown Boise. The scenery was gorgeous, and the weather was perfect for a ride. We even stopped at one of the parks to enjoy some live music and food trucks. We found the best Mexican food truck EVER and indulged in some delicious bites and a bit of day drinking. A winning combo, if you ask me.

Proletariat Wine Company Tasting Room

After our 16-mile bike ride, we needed to quench our thirst, so we headed to the Proletariat Wine Company Tasting Room. It was the perfect spot to relax and unwind. We enjoyed a flight of wine and a charcuterie board while listening to the tunes of Idaho native Cliff Miller. It was a delightful way to cap off a fun-filled day.

Our Saturday in Boise was a blend of caffeine, art, outdoor fun, and great food and wine. From the impressive murals at Freak Alley Gallery to the scenic ride along the Boise Greenbelt and the relaxing end at Proletariat Wine Company, every part of the day was a memorable adventure. If you’re in Boise, these spots are definitely worth a visit. Cheers to many more days like this!

Until next time, keep spinning the wheel of adventure!

Happy RVing!
